ABOUT CATHY STEVENS

Cathy Stevens has owned Peeps Photography for 30 years. The studio has been serving generations of Skagit Valley families by specializing in creative environmental portraits of families and children. Two of her portraits of children were featured on the cover of Rangefinder Magazine, a national trade publication for photographers.

In her personal work, Cathy has also spent the last 30 years documenting the everyday life and culture of the people of the Skagit Valley and surrounding areas. "I am interested in depicting the intricate tapestry that makes a community," says Stevens. Her sensitive black & white portraits of artists in their studios have been exhibited in many group art shows, and have been collected by art patrons for yers. Whether recording volunteers sandbagging the banks of the flooding Skagit River, or scenes from Fiestas and Street Fairs, Cathy Stevens has been busy capturing moments in time.
